I think it’s a twilight zone episode but there is a slim chance of it being hitchcock presents.

If I remember correctly it’s about a guy who gives people random items. The person may accept or not accept the item but a deadly situation happens to them and they need to use the item to save their life. For example there was this man who was handed scissors to cut his tie that’s stuck in an elevator door that’s choking him.
